How much beef should I expect?
Cedar Groves Farm delivers beef to the Processor at a live weight of approximately 1100 pounds. Payment to Cedar Groves farm is based on "Hanging Weight". The yield will be based on how you choose to have the beef processed. Contact us and we can talk you through the cut sheet and discuss what you should expect to take home.

What breed are the cattle?
Cedar Groves Farm uses the two prime beef producing breeds, Angus and Hereford, to achieve proper marbling and the best quality beef.
How will I get my beef?
Customers normally pick up their own beef. Delivery is available for an additional charge and is priced according to roundtrip mileage.
Can I get a portion of a beef?
Yes, you can get a 1/2 as long as that portion of an animal is available. It is best to half or quarter with other families and share the price of the whole animal.
What am I purchasing from the farm?
The farm will sell you a live animal delivered to the processor.
How do I coordinate with the processor?
Forms will be provided for you to select your cuts and these will be sent to the processor prior to the delivery of your animal.
What are the steers fed?
We graze our cattle on lush pasture and feed quality hay. We finish the animals selected for processing on hay and grain approximately 100 days before delivery to the Processor.
How do I secure a beef for the coming season?
Arrangements can be made to secure beef by making a deposit to Cedar Groves Farm. We request an advance deposit of $300 for a half steer and $400 for a whole steer. Deposits are non-refundable. Contact us for more information. We accept cash and Venmo.
